NON-RELIGIOUS AND HUMANIST CEREMONIES
For a non-religious celebration of life’s important events

NAMINGS

You may want to welcome a new baby or child into your family and friendship circle with a secular or humanist naming ceremony or welcoming party with a  little formality, you can choose the promises you want to make, or the hopes you have  for your child –  and can choose how to do it, possibly with the help of a celebrant. Naming ceremonies can take place anywhere,  most often held in the home or garden of a family member or friend or even a park. They are wonderful occasions involving and touching everyone connected with your child.

WEDDINGS OR PARTNERSHIPS

Marriage is not the only way to make a commitment to your partner.. You might want it to take place in a  setting of your own choice,. such  a place which is special to you. You might want to change the form of the ceremony,  readings, promises and music from traditional forms to those that have some  meaning for you.  In Scotland humanist weddings are legally recognised but in England and Wales couples who choose to have a humanist wedding or partnership ceremony also need to complete the legal formalities and obtain a civil marriage certificate at a Register Office. (marriage has a privileged status that confers financial advantage)

FUNERALS

Such memorial ceremonies  uniquely  celebrate the life of the person who has died and contributes to the emotional needs of the berieved. Tribute is paid to the deceased, to the life they lived, and the good  they have left behind in the lives of others.
